Synopsis:
Harry's second year at Hogwarts started with messages on the corridors' walls stating that the Chamber of Secrets had been re-opened and that the "heir of Slytherin" would kill all students who had non-wizard parents like Hermione. Later on, Harry found a diary with the name Tom Marvolo Riddle. The diary showed him Hogwarts in the past, Tom Riddle himself, a pupil at the time, blaming on Rubeus Hagrid for opening the Chamber.
Four months later, the diary was stolen, and shortly afterward Hermione is petrified. However, from the note she held, Harry eventually found a clue that the culprit is a Basilisk, who traveled through the school's pipes and emerged through the toilet Moaning Myrtle haunts. Harry had to kill the Basilisk and prevented another effort of Lord Voldemort to fully recover.
